YATRA-PASHCHIMALAP AT AMITY
The sports department of Government of
Gujarat, Youth and Cultural department, Gandhinagar along with Bharuch district
administration and Western zone culture centre, Udaipur organised A National
level Music and Dance Cultural event “YATRA-PASHCHIMALAP”on 8th March,2018, at Amity
School, Bharuch to display the folk culture and tradition of western India. Almost
100 performers from western regions- RAJSTHAN, GUJARAT, MAHYA PRADESH,
MAHARASHTRA, GOA and DIU-DAMAN performed on the stage delegating the culture of
their region in front of 1500 spectators.
Mr. T.M.Patel (Mamlatdar of Bharuch) chaired
the function as the chief guest of the evening. Along with him Mr. Naishad
Makwana (District Education Officer), Mr. Shyamu Pandor(District Sports
Officer), Mr. Hemant Mehta (Program Officer,Western zone culture centre,Udaipur)
Mr. Ranchhod Shah (Managing Trustee, Amity Educational Campus) also glittered
the event.
The program saw performances of
various descents. To start with, Rajasthani tribe “LANGA and MANGNIYAR” presented a song basically sung during any
festival. Next was the famous Rajasthani dance “KALBELIYA” which showed stunts that amazed the audience to the
extreme extent. To reflect Gujarat’s prosperous tradition of Bhavai “KERVANO VESH” was performed. From
Mahrashtra came “LAVANI”, Goa
brought “SAMAI” and “DEKHNI” dance and “RAI” was from Madhya Pradesh.
Towards the end of the show “BHAVAI” from South Rajasthan was
presented .The Dance
form consisted dancer balancing up to seven or nine brass pitchers as he danced
nimbly, pirouetting and then swaying with the soles of his feet perched on the
top of a glass or on the edge of the sword. There was a sense of cutting edge
suspense and nail biting acts in the dance.
Bharuch city will remember such a show
for a longer time just because of its variety and diversity.
