EVERY MARK MATTERS
25th January is celebrated as the National Voters Day in India. It is
dedicated to the voters of India and reminds us of the Constitutional Rights of
adult suffrage granted to every Indian citizen irrespective of religion, race,
caste, community, language, and region or socio economic considerations. On
this day, while restate our enduring faith in democracy, we renew our resolve
to uphold the rich democratic traditions of our country and the sacredness of
free, fair and peaceful elections. The Election Commission of our nation has
taken several initiatives in its continued endeavour to encourage and enhance
inclusive, informed and ethical electoral participation from all categories of
voters. The initiatives integrate technology and media including social media
for efficiency and efficacy of connect with the voters down to the polling
station level in consonance with theme ‘No voter to be left behind’. Systematic
Voters ‘Education and Electoral Participation programme SVEEP, the flagship
voter education programme has been further vitalised especially for engaging
future and new voters. Interactive
School Engagement and ECI National Election Quiz have found tremendous response
from the future voters in schools.
Students as well as Teachers from Amity School Bharuch
also chipped in to take part in the competitions organised by SVEEP. Both bestowed
their finest paintings in support of encouraging voters and displaying the
importance of voting. And all of them came out with flying colours they not
only did make us proud but also set a benchmark at the district and the state
levels.
Rana Mansi of Class 9 A (Eng Med) won 2nd prize in the Mascot
category of competition and Shreyas Sinh Rajput of Class 11 (Guj.Med) won 2nd
prize in the Election Quiz Competition at district level .He further
participated at state level. Each one was honoured with an amount of Rs.1500
separately. Mr.Mahesh Parmar(teacher) made
his mark by winning the 1st prize at state level and was rewarded
with a sum of Rs 25000 and Mr. Naresh Chauhan(teacher) was rewarded with a sum
of Rs 2500 as a 1st prize winner at district level for Mascot
category.
It
is indeed a conceited moment for our institute and as citizens of this country.
Such an enthusiastic partaking is worth
a brainwave.
