Amity School marks its presence at the lecture cum demonstration of Prof. H.C. Verma
IAPT RC-7 organised
a popular lecture of Mr. H.C. Verma a
renowned Physics teacher and Ex. Professor of I.I.T., Kanpur on physics
experiments on topics related to Std 10, 11 and 12th standards on 28-01-2018 at Sir P.T.
Sarvajanik College of Science, Surat. The
lecture workshop was specifically meant for the local/regional students as well
as teachers, with a view to make the students gain in-depth knowledge Simple
Phenomena of Nature. Out of 400 students
registered for the lecture workshop, 100 participants were from Amity school
Bharuch accompanied by 12 teachers.
In his lecture Prof. H.C. Verma mainly focused on
demonstrating the experiments practically in front of the students and the
teachers. He explained simple principles of physics through live display so as
to give them proper understanding of the concepts they deal daily with.
The whole lecture was showcased on Physics -which is with us since our
existence on this planet. To elaborate this he took up certain experiments to
give a more précised understanding of the fact. Such as directing a student to drop a coin in the glass with both the
eyes closed then by opening one eye, Why there is presence of ears, How much
force do we apply to lift a particular object, How to measure force, Potential
difference of different cell, Polarisation of light and many more.
Mr. Verma himself went to each one sitting in the
audience and demonstrated the experiments and cleared obscures of doubt arising
from them. He also advised the educators on following such techniques while
conducting a physics lecture, rather just delegating the theoretical knowledge.
His main concern was to pull out the
myth about physics- that it is a tough and boring subject.
While conducting the homily he emphasised on the
reality that Physics in itself is an easy method that we perform in our day to
day life. Apart from this the objects
and materials that he used for the experiments were ones we find in our houses.
He declared there is no need of buying any material to perform an experiment.
To end with his sermon he welcomed queries from the
children and very liberally and patiently answered each one with his expertise.
His main motto for conducting these seminars is to make physics much more known
and popular to everybody.
